Age Gap is a multicentre study recruiting up to 3000 older women (>70) with operable breast cancer at 50 sites in the UK. The programme aims to optimize the management of older women with breast cancer and reduce the age-gap in breast cancer outcomes between younger and older women. The programme has two workstreams which will provide data to guide best practice (Workstream 1 ‘Optimisation of treatment’) and support older women to make informed choices about their care (Workstream 2 ‘Treatment Decision Support’).
SHORE-C is involved in the development and evaluation of a decision support instrument to assist older women making informed decisions about having chemotherapy for breast cancer.
